Roses in containers require the same TLC as roses growing in the ground. Give them full sunshine, adequate water and regular feeding. The soil in containers can dry out quickly during the summer months so check every day or two to make sure it's not too dry. Just stick your finger down into the soil. If it is moist an inch below the soil surface, you won't need to water for a few days; if it feels dry, it's time to water. When feeding, apply only half as much as recommended on the fertilizer label. Because the roots are contained, they can be burned if you feed them too much at one time. Enjoy your roses! |
