A friend has a very large mature fig tree, I would like to be able to figure out how to get a peice of the branch or limb of it and make it grow. I've read on line about fig propagation and it sounds really hard and time consuming. Is there an easier way? How do I do this?

You can try the process of layering if you can bend one of the branches down so it lays on the ground, or you might be able to dig up a sucker if any are forming at the base of the plant. Otherwise, just taking a stem cutting, dipping the cut end in rooting hormone and placing it in a container filled with moistened potting soil should work. None of the propagation techniques are especially complicated but they will all take time. Best wishes with your project!
