|I planted iceberg lettuce in mid April, when do I pick it? It looks pretty big. How do I pick it?

|You can harvest iceberg lettuce when it is fully shaped and the right size for the variety. Sounds like yours is so go ahead and harvest. When you're ready to harvest, grasp the head of lettuce in your hand and either cut or twist it away from the roots. If you're not sure where it attaches to the roots, pull or dig up the entire plant and then cut the roots off close to the head. Enjoy your lettuce!
