what is the best way to grow green beans? Do green beans grow on a vine or like a bush? When do you know when to pick green beans?

There are both pole and bush type green beans. They take about 6 weeks to mature and you can harvest the bean pods when they are 6-8 inches long and slender as a pencil. If you wait until they begin to buldge they will be overripe and stringy. The more often you pick the beans, the more beans your plant will produce so harvest the beans when they are still small and you'll get lots of beans from your plant.
