Hardy Kiwi (Arguta) will grow in your zone. These differ from the fuzzy kiwi that are found in grocery stores in that they grow in clusters, like grapes, and have smooth skins. You'll need one male plant for every 2-3 females. You can successfuly grow Elderberries, Grapes, Raspberries, Currants, Gooseberries, Cranberries, Strawberries and Blueberries - just to name a few. There are several books that focus on edible landscaping, and can give you even more information on gardening in zone 5, including Robert Kourik's 'Designing and Maintaining Your Edible Landscape Naturally', and Rosalind Creasy's 'The Complete Book of Edible Landscaping'. Check with your local library for availability.
