Cedar Park, Te

I also live in Austin so Mr Richter may be better help. I have these freaking broad leafed vines every where in my yard. It doesn't help that the house was vacant for 6 months to a year before I moved in and it seems the people who lived here before didn't do anything to keep the yards nice. What I am wanting to know is how can I kill the vines and prevent them from growing back?

It sounds like field bindweed but I can't tell without seeing it. Here's a publication with photos that may help you identify it:

Once you know what it is, we can help with control strategies. Just send us another question with the identity of the weed.
