I need advise on a good grass seed for my area. I live in Orlando, this section gets direct sun at least 6 hours per day. I have no sprinkler system. I have tried Argentina Bahia and Pensacola Bahia with no luck. I watered and raked it in. My Winter Rye did great there, but of course died off. What do you suggest I use without a sprinkler system.

Bahia grass (Argentine, Pensacola, Paraguay) are the most drought tolerant turfgrasses for your area so if you're not having success with them, you may need set up a sprinkler to water them regularly until they become well established. After a year of regular watering, they should be okay with just supplemental watering during the hottest months of the year. According to the University of Florida, "Irrigation is needed when leaf blades begin to fold up, wilt, or turn blue-gray in color, or when footprints remain visible after walking on the grass. Apply ? to 1 inch of water per application". Hope this information is helpful.
