Flowering Shrub - Knowledgebase Question

Orlando, Fl

I am in Zone 9, Orlando. I need a shrub, preferably flowering, 4'-6' high, to plant in front of my raised porch so people can't see under the porch. The area faces east and gets morning sun but there are large trees further east keeping it from a lot of full sun. Thanks

Gardenia augusta 'Radicans' will grow in the site you describe, as will Nandina (heavenly bamboo), 'Rotunda' dwarf Chinese holly, 'Nana' dwarf yaupon holly, Fortune's mahonia (Mahonia fortunei), Aucuba japonica and Callicarpa americana (Beauty berry). Hope one of these is just right for your landscape. Enjoy!
