As an evergreen, hibiscus will lose some of the oldest leaves - those lower down and towards the interior of the plant - all through the growing season. These leaves can be picked off when they turn yellow and your plant will replace them with healthy green leaves. However, if the entire plant is turning yellow, it's most likely due to overwatering. Water thoroughly, but allow the top of the soil to dry out between waterings. Best wishes with your hibiscus.
