Do peony plants reflower in the same season?? Do I need to cut back? Lots of new buds but no flower. Should these be cut back so they can bloom again???

Deadheading peonies isn't mandatory, however the dead flowers can look unattractive so most gardeners remove them from the plant. Your peony will grow just fine if you don't deadhead. The root base will spread and every year you'll have more stems. If you decide to deadhead your peonies, here's how: Snip each flowering head just above the first set of leaves. Make sure that your pruning shears are very sharp. A sharp edge heals quickly and resists bacterial growth that can damage your plant. Enjoy your peonies!
