You can keep both plants from getting leggy by regularly pinching out the tips of the stems and by cutting or pinching out the dead flowers plus some of the stem. Pinching out the tips of the stems will result in two new flowering stems developing. Go ahead and cut your plants back now and then remember to pinch out the tips of the stems every few weeks to keep them bushy and blooming prolifically. Enjoy your garden!
