i live in the piny woods of texas and am wondering if a cherry tree can be started from a pit? and if they can be grown in my area? if no to the pit but yes to the growing, where do i find them and do i need two for pollination.

Cherry trees won't grow and produce in your gardening region but your local cooperative extension service has a publication listing the fruits and nuts that do grow well in your area. Check out the publication at the following address:
