|Floritam turf is typically mowed at 3 1/2 to 4" in height. I don't think you'll need to worry about chinch bugs or grubs in your lawn this year but if and when you do see symptoms of the pests you can control them. Several strains of the bacterium Bacillus popilliae, also called Milky Spore Disease, is a biological way to rid your lawn of grubs. Look for it in your garden center. Or insecticides such as imidacloprid (Merit) or halofenozide (GrubEx) can be applied to your lawn to control grubs and chinch bugs. Be sure to apply according to label directions.
