The answer depends upon the kinds of tomatoes you are growing. Indeterminate tomatoes, the ones that produce fruit all summer long, can grow very large - 4 feet wide and 6 feet high. If these are the types you are growing, plant them 4 feet apart. Determinate type tomatoes, the kinds that produce one large crop all at once, are smaller plants and you can plant them about 2' apart. Hope you have a great harvest!
