|Pentas lanceolata is commonly called star flower or star cluster but is not usually referred to as a butterfly bush. These plants do attract hummingbirds and butterflies, though. It is considered a perennial in Florida and you can grow yours in a container. They don't really require any special care and generally don't develop insect or disease problems. You can feed yours every 6 weeks with a half strength dilution of a water soluable fertilizer such as Miracle Gro. Enjoy your pentas!
