small plants haven't grown in 1 month, & leaves turn yellow. Some died. Is it fertilizer problem, or Alaska (lots of overcast) or...?

Cool temperatures, lack of sunlight and overwatering can all contribute to yellowing foliage on summer squash. Sounds like your plants have stalled and are holding out for more summer like weather! Just be patient with them and be careful not to overwater. Good luck with your squash.
