Butterfly Bush location - Knowledgebase Question

I have purchased a Purple Emperor bush. I have had it in full sun when it was still in the pot but it still seemed to wilt...even with watering. Can I place it in a partially shaded area...maybe 4-5 hours of sun?

Butterfly bushes thrive in full sunshine. I think yours is showing some stress because it is still in the container and the roots cannot explore out into moist and cool soil. If you keep it in the pot, give it morning sun but shade from the hot afternoon sunshine (especially shade the pot so the roots don't overheat). If you plant it in the ground, place it in full sun. Enjoy!
