Plants to ward off pests? - Knowledgebase Question

I just moved into a new house that is close to a stream and woods. We are inundated with mosquitoes and other insects (odd small flying Beatles invaded our kitchen last night... which also means I need to get better weather stripping on the door:)).

Is there anything that I can plant to help keep them at bay/away?

There are mosquito and fly foggers you can use in your yard but because you are close to the woods and a stream the effect of the fogger will only be temporary. Perhaps your county has a mosquito abatement program. If so, your local health department can fill you in on the spraying schedule or perhaps you can request your property be sprayed. Hope so!
