Is it ok to move perennials mid-summer, particularly a large butterfly bush, now?

Moving plants in July isn't the best time, but it can be done. Prune your shrub down prior to digging and replant at the same soil level as it was growing before. Be sure to deeply soak the soil once a week. Expect some wilting until it re-establishes its root system. Good luck with the move.
