|I have 2 Maples in the lawn on the south side of my house. This year leaves are more pale; one on southwest is very pale. Should I fertilize? With what?

|I'd feed the maples to see if that helps. Sometimes overly wet soils will stress maples and cause the foliage to look pale. If you haven't had an over abundance of rain, then the pale color probably indicates a need for fertilizer. Use something like an 8-8-8 or a 10-10-10 broadcast beneath the canopies of the tress in amounts as listed on the label (which vary according to the size of the tree). Good luck with your maples.
