I have seen very few bees in my area I heard there was a problem but did not think it was in this area

Honeybees are necessary for pollination of flowers so your plants will set fruits or set seeds. In general they won't harm you unless they feel threatened. I'd just leave them alone and try to work around them when they are visiting your garden.
