You may have a combination of cool season and warm season grasses. Cool season grasses grow best in the spring and fall but brown out in the summertime; warm season grasses go dormant in the fall but green up in the summer months. If the grass is browning inspite of adequate watering, your lawn probably has some cool season grasses. There's nothing you can do to change the growth habit of cool season grasses. If you don't like the browning out you can overseed with a warm season grass such as bermuda. Good luck with your lawn!
