Iris' & daffodils - Knowledgebase Question

When can I safely cut back the green foilage from my iris' and daffodils, or do I have to wait until they die down? I am in Lower central Michigan.

Wait for the foliage to die down naturally on your daffodils. If you cut the foliage prematurely the bulbs won't be able to store energy for next year's flowers. You can cut back the iris folige in late August. Enjoy your garden!
