|I have a yellow string that is covering and killing my one outside flowerbed. What is it and how do I kill it. I've never had this before and that flower bed is 5 yrs. old.

|What you describe sounds like dodder, which is a plant parasite. It begins life by sprouting from a seed but once it finds a likely host it feeds off the host rather than from its own root system. Keeping the plant from flowering and setting seeds is important. There's no chemical you can use against it so pull it off your plants and be sure to dig out any new sprouts you see in your garden.
