Small flowering shrubs - Knowledgebase Question

We have a small 11x31/2 bed in our front with south exposure. I can't seem to find a shrub(3 feet) or two to grow. It gets really hot for 3 hours a day. We have impatients and roses in the front yard so it has to look good with that landscape. It is watered by the grass sprinklers. Thank you.

I'd plant heather or lavender in the site. Both can take the sun, don't mind droughty conditions and both flower nicely all summer long. Enjoy your garden!
