Six Mile, So
Question by Joelbarb71

Our Six Mile, SC 12 foot eleven year old crepe myrtle (lavender color)has only bloomed twice in eleven years. This year we had 2 blooms. We have tried cutting it back and not cutting it back. Nothing seems to work. The tree itself seems very healthy but something is wrong when every one else's tree blooms like crazy. What can we do??

Pruning will encourage new growth so pruning in the early spring should result in flowering. You can prune it back again now and with any luck the new growth it develops will flower later this summer. Hope it does!
