I live in Austin, Tx. Some thing is eating my raised bed box built with landscape timbers. One is falling apart. What can be eating it & what can I do.
2nd question: what are some low cost alternatives to building a raised bed box?

If you don't see sawdust, the problem isn't ants; if you don't see tunnels in the wood, it's not beetles or termites. Perhaps the wood is simply decaying due to excessive moisture? You can use concrete block or the new plastic timbers to reconstruct your raised bed. Good luck with your project!
