We had some bald spots in our lawn. We thinned the trees so there is adequate sunlight. We bought sod that is gorgeous from a sod dealer that we always use. They gave us some iffy (brown but still had live blades). Those pieces are not doing well. Some live green blades in the sod but oddly new is growing between seams! Any suggestions?

For the "iffy" grass it appears that some of the turf has died-out while new grass is emerging... I would thatch and rake out as much of the dead grass to invigorate and promote new growth if you do in-fact have some new blades emerging.
