my avocado tree produces fruit in the spring but fall off the tree before ever getting larger than the size of a pea. the free receives adequate water and i use fertilizer for avocado trees. can you tell me why the fruit is falling off early?

It doesn't sound as though the flowers are being pollinated. Bee activity around the open flowers helps to transfer the pollen so if you don't have many bees around when your tree is in flower you might want to plant some colorful annuals or perennials to attract the bees to your yard.
