I have an avocado plant that I started from a seed about one year ago. It is currently indoors because of the cold weather. My question is, can I plant the avocodo plant outside in the spring when the weather warms up. We do get a hard freeze every couple of years, and I am afraid that if I do put this plant in the ground that a freeze would one day kill my plant.

Yes a hard freeze would kill it. An avocado is not hardy enough to survive through most winters in your area. However, if it was mulched heavily, the crown or base of the plant might survive and resprout.
