Insecticidal soap is a safe, effective pesticide for controlling soft bodied insects like aphids (plant lice). Make sure you get the spray on the undersides of the leaves and make 3 applications about a week apart. This is necessary because the insecticidal soap doesn't kill the eggs so you need to make several applications to get aphids that hatched out since the previous spray was made.
