Nice selection and great quality. Don't shop here if you want something cheap. Their stuff is quality and their prices correspond.

I purchased 4 trees and shrubs from them, was quite pleased, and everything has done very well.

They have a large variety and some things not found elsewhere. I bought a Franklin tree from them - a very rare tree that can no longer be found in the wild.

Highly recommended.

I've ordered from them for many years and have always been happy! I know their plants must be carefully tended when they are growing them, because when I receive them, they look like plants I spotted in a garden center that day and not ones that were packed and shipped in a box for days.

When I get the plants, I follow Debby's instructions about unpacking carefully and tending to them on my shaded and covered porch for a few days afterward, watering when needed. I have never lost a plant! The plants are very well packed for shipping!

Wonderful and friendly service! A joy to order from each time!

They have a very large selection of plants to pick from, from perennials to shrubs, vines, and trees!

Highly recommended! A+

I have ordered from Lazy S'S more than once and have been well satisfied with the orders. Lots of useful information on the website. They even have good information about how to unpack what they have packed once you receive the plants.

I ordered a shrub and a tree and was very worried about them being shipped in such hot weather. They assured me that it was their responsibility because they replace damaged plants.
Also, USPS keeps them moving and does not let them sit. The plants arrived in good condition and I followed directions. It's been almost five days and not one stem has turned black. I love the packing -- so simple yet effective. No peanuts or staples or miles of tape. Oh, the prices are great too. Sure the tree was small, but so was the price. I like it that way.
I would definitely order from LazyS again and recommend them to my friends.

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Lazy S'S Farm. They are a family owned, second generation nursery located in Virginia. Pete and Debby grow all of their own plants, and propagate most of them, relying on "old fashioned" techniques instead of large amounts of chemicals. In my opinion, there are two things that make Lazy S'S stand out from other companies: their vast selection, and their bend-over-backwards customer service.

First, the selection. Lazy S'S boasts an astounding selection of over 2,000 different shrubs, trees, and perennials. With so much from which to choose, the website can be intimidating! However, you will appreciate the attention to details in the description of every plant that Debby and Pete sell. Because they grow all of their plants, they are thoroughly familiar with their products. Their details aren't copied and pasted from elsewhere; they come from real world growing. They sell plants that they are confident in, and discontinue plants that have a better alternative.

Next let's look at their customer service. I've already mentioned their knowledge of the plants they sell. Even more impressive to me is your choices and options at the checkout. Debby warned me that people either love or hate their checkout system, and I can see why. It is a very long process with many choices throughout the process. You can choose for your order to be a gift, and you can also add to a pre-existing order if you do so quickly. Sometimes plants are not quite ready for shipping, and you can decide to cancel those, or ship them lightly rooted. There are also fields to post other comments for your order, and even add dates that you are not available to take delivery! That's a lot of customer service during checkout!

So, while it is a lot of extra steps if you are used to ordering quick and easy, you should take your time, read through the pages, and enjoy all of the options that the company gives you. Clearly, Lazy S'S believes in more information being better!

After checkout, your order is likely to take 7-10 days to ship. That may seem like a long time (it did to me, anyway!), but with such a huge inventory, and small company, plus the ability to add on to your order, it isn't unreasonable. Thankfully, they do make it very clear up front that you will be waiting that long, so you aren't left wondering.

When your order ships, you receive an email which gives you tips on unpacking the box, hardening off your plants, and your tracking number. The whole packing job is very ingenious! Plants are shipped USPS Priority Mail. When you receive your package, you'll note that it is completely custom to their company. The box has Lazy S'S brand on it, along with instructions for opening and planting. The box also has handles that double as breathing holes.

Upon opening the box, I was somewhat surprised at the packaging. There is no packing material on top of the plants. Instead, plants were tightly packed upright in their pots. Each plant had sphagnum moss on top of the soil, with a plastic bag cover to keep moisture in. Each plant is also protected by two stakes in the corner of each pot, which allows movement while preventing damage to the stems of the larger specimens. The tags are hidden under the moss.

I ordered a variety of plants to get an idea of both the selection, and the quality of products that Lazy S'S offers:

Lonicera tatarica (red form)

Lonicera japonica 'Aureo-Reticulata'

Viburnum nudum 'Bulk' (BRANDYWINE)

Viburnum nudum 'Winterthur'

Echinacea 'Pink Poodle' PP19428

Echinacea 'Heavenly Dream' PPAF

You can see how healthy the plants were upon arrival. Each one had good growth and great root systems.

In my opinion, Lazy S'S is one of the best online sources of trees and shrubs. Their prices are very reasonable, and the quality is excellent! I will be ordering from them again as we continue to fill our our landscape, and I give them two green thumbs up and recommend them to you.

Disclaimer: I was not paid for this review, but the company did provide me with the products I am reviewing. All opinions are my own honest impressions.
