I recently made my second purchase from Tropical Plants & More. As with my first experience, it was very satisfying. I've ordered orchids and other plants from multiple online sources, but the plants that I've received from TP&M are the healthiest, most beautiful specimens that I've ever seen. My order shipped quickly and the packaging was impeccable. It's clear that Ken cares deeply about the health and well-being of the plants that he sells. All around excellent service.

I've ordered from Ken several times. I ordered Bromeliads, and got wonderful plants, extremely well packed and ready to just take off beautifully. They began putting out pups the first week they were potted up.

I recently ordered garlic from him. Up to now I've only had grocery store garlic, and I'm so impressed with the fantastic taste of his garlics. I will have a hard time saving enough to plant in the Fall. I have a feeling he will always have a hard time growing enough for all the buyers who want it. it's worth reserving your garlic early, before it's harvested and cured.

Ken's service is super fast, and he packs plants better than anyone else I've ordered from. Don't hesitate to order from him. His prices are also very good!

I would like to add my strong endorsement and recommendation to Tropical Plants & More. I ordered a rooted plumeria from drdawg and the plant far exceeded my expectations with regards to size and condition. It's simply a beautiful plant and the pricing structure used by the good Doctor makes sense and results in a very high quality plant at a tremendous price point. My plant even had an inflo. Shipping was quick and the packing was superb. If he offers what you are looking for in a plant then look no further as you are highly unlikely to find better quality than offered by Tropical Plants & More and certainly won't at this price point. BTW he is extremely helpful and just a pleasure to interact with.

I ordered 3 orchids from Ken during one of his sales to NGA members. Prices were very reasonable. The packaging was done so well that 2 of the orchids that had blooms arrived totally intact! I got to enjoy the flowers upon arrival. The other orchid hasn't bloomed yet, but was purchased with a cypress mount which I really liked! I would highly recommend Tropical Plants and More. And I will be watching for future sales by Ken.

I have ordered plants from Ken on a couple of occasions--bromeliads, gingers, plumerias. Each time, I've been impressed with the size and quality of his plants. He offers great deals to NGA members from time to time, which I take advantage of. He's been very accommodating with my requests (change in order, etc.) and has been willing to work with me (and very patient) to make sure that I am more than happy with my purchases.

His professionalism shows in his comments on the forums and in the exquisite way that he cares for and packages plants for shipping. He always includes cultural info regarding care of the plants. He's interested in his customers and is not just another seller, as he goes over and beyond the expected. And he makes himself available if his customers have questions or problems. I'm looking forward to ordering some of his nice orchids that I've been hearing about. I highly recommend Tropical Plants and More, owned by our very own member DrDawg.

Tropical Plants & More comes highly recommended, not to mention that the owner is one of our members right here, drdawg (Ken Ramsey). I've ordered a few times and received lush happy plants in record time. Ken is full of knowledge about his orchids and offers a wide range of nice plants and some rare ones. Don't hesitate to put in an order.

Ken Ramsey has been incredible from purchase to his helpfulness after the purchase.
I purchased two Plumerias. One is Vera Cruz Rose with inflo and the other is Celadine two tip.
Both are way better quality than I have seen anywhere else.
Ken has been extremely responsive and helpful at every turn.
I look forward to adding many more varieties to my collection from Ken.
I can't say enough about how kind he has been and how quickly he responds to every question I have.
If you are looking for great quality tropicals and someone you can trust to be there for any questions you have, Ken is your guy!!!

Receiving Ken's Leopard Lilies today was a great experience! The packaging was fabulous - one plant was even blooming! Not a single leaf had browned, and all jumped into my gardens with no problem.

He's amazing!!

I am so mad that I can't support more tropical plants here in the piedmont of NC - zone 7a/7b

Today I received a wonderfully packed box with leopard lilies (Blackberry Lily). A very fast ship from time payment submitted.

The delivery company mangled the box, but it was so sturdily taped that it did not matter a bit. Inside the plants were fine. The moss was plenty damp and everything was well protected with bubble wrap, newspapers, and tape, all encased in plastic

Ken even sent an information sheet with instructions for immediate and long-term care.

It is clear that this grower/shipper takes great interest in customer satisfaction as well as pride in his product

I do not think he is a good businessman because I received a GREAT many HEALTHY plants for a very small cost. What a deal!

I received two orchids from Ken. Excellent packing ensured they arrived in great shape even when the shipper mangled the box. This was such a smooth transaction. They shipped quickly and were well prepared beforehand, having been watered before shipping and then carefully wrapped. All questions and concerns were answered very quickly; it's nice to know he's just an e-mail away if I have questions or concerns. And the prices are great!

Today I received 3 lb of garlic from Ken and 3 ground orchids. Oh my! The garlic smells wonderful, and the orchids don't even know they have left the ground. I potted them up right way. Ken sends good plants and fresh, tasty garlic! I will order from him again!

I placed an order with Ken over at Tropical Plants & More, consisting of 1 Celadine rooted cutting and 2 Cattleya Orchids. I could not be happier with how smooth the transaction went. The packaging was perfect and the plants were delivered in 2 days. They all arrived in perfect condition and are super healthy. Thank you, Ken, for your help and prompt delivery. I see more transactions in our future!! Great seller, folks. You cannot go wrong.

Plus, he has a lovely habit of offering special deals on the sales and group buys forum here. Thanks, Ken!!

I ordered two Orchids and a plumeria cutting (one I desperately wanted) from Tropical Plants & More. I cannot say enough kind things about Ken or his shop. My plants arrived very quickly, in wonderful condition, and with super precise packaging. Now I like Ken, not only as a person, but also as a vendor/merchant. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and answered every question I could possibly have. Ken's prices are competitively well priced for a small business, and you can be assured that his plants are extremely well taken care of and grown with care. You can tell that he truly loves what he does!

Enthusiastically recommend Tropical Plants and Drdawg. I ordered 6 white butterfly ginger rhizomes and 2 plumeria cuttings. Arrived in well-packed box, everything in great condition. The Plumies were exceptionally eye popping and three times bigger than those I bought at Philadelphia Flower Show. Drdawg takes pride in his business and it shows. Great quality and a great experience.

Oh my, I just received the cutest li'l orchid!
Starting from the website, through the personal info through emails and to the plant arriving, this has been a pleasant experience

I knew just from corresponding with Ken that it would be a healthy plant and packed well with great growing instructions, but he goes above and beyond!

I will definitely order more when this one makes it through the summer
Thanks, Ken

It's taken me a little while to write this but I still just can't say enough wonderful things about Ken and Tropical Plants & More. In November I received a pretty large box of orchids from Ken and was simply in awe!
I live in Florida so I have never bought an orchid through the mail as we have so many, many growers here locally...but this order blew them all away!
The packaging was incredible, with each orchid as lovingly wrapped as a new-born baby! Even the flower spike on one made it safely!
His tags are amazing! Laminated with the name of the plant and a photo of what the bloom looks like. I asked him to please come to Florida and do a tag for all of my orchids! (I'm still waiting for a reply on that request...LOL!)
I also ordered a ficus alli and a sarcoglottis sceptrodes and was SO impressed with the size of them...the ficus was HUGE, and is showing much new growth! The sarcoglottis was also much larger than expected and it's already in spike!
I simply cannot say enough good things about Ken and Tropical Plants & More...you can order with confidence!

Was I ever surprised at the size and beauty of these HUGE bromeliads that arrived today from Ken (Tropical Plants & More). They're in a temporary container just until I can get them properly situated. I was very comfortable ordering from him, especially since he is a master gardener. And I was acquainted from his posts (and help) on this site. He included an insert telling how to care for the plants - very helpful. You won't be disappointed if you order from him. Prices are very reasonable and quality is exceptional !

I just received my order of Voodoo Doll bromeliads from Ken at Tropical Plants and More. His prices were very reasonable, and since he's a regular in many of the ATP forums, I felt comfortable ordering from him. When I opened the box, I was thrilled to see such huge and healthy plants! Wow! They were well-packaged, in great condition, and much bigger than I expected. I've already planted them in my yard Smiling I'm sure I'll be ordering from him again.

Thanks, Ken - it was a pleasure doing business with you!

I don't think that I can express my satisfaction any more/better than those before me. I do have to say that Ken was gracious enough to check the weather in my location and hold off shipping so the Plumie cuts wouldn't be subjected to temperatures below 45.

I plan to order from him again.

I would like to give Tropical Plants & More a big thumbs-up. I ordered 3 sets of the bromeliads Ken had for sale this fall. Two sets were to be my Christmas gifts to my mother-in-law and my brother-in-law and the other for me. The plants arrived wonderfully packaged - not crowded, well wrapped, and in beautiful condition. These were all young plants of varying but good sizes, and unbloomed, so that they are still in the growing cycle, not on the decline. He also included some extras. I repackaged them in BIG gift bags and gave them to them over Thanksgiving (I don't think I'll be traveling anywhere come Christmas since I'm getting a new knee next week.) Both of my in-laws were thrilled with both the variety of the bromeliads - Michii and VooDoo - as well as the size and beauty of these. I'm looking forward to getting some more plants from Ken. Thanks, Drdawg!

UPDATE: Yet another order with highest recommendations!
WOW, Ken. My orchids just arrived a few minutes ago - took me about 15 minutes to unwrap the beauties. They are 3 ft tall and gorgeous. I love all the big pups - I guess now siblings. Both of them are statement plants and I encourage any of you thinking about getting one or both to stop thinking and say, "Send my some!" These are amazing to come out of a box.
A couple of photos for your enjoyment:

I would like to give a hearty endorsement for Tropical Plants & More. I just received an order from Ken yesterday, which consisted of 3 rooted plumerias, 2 plumeria cuttings, and 2 gingers. The packing was the best. No worries on whether your order will arrive in great shape. Ken checks the weather on his end and the destination so there won't be any problems in that department. It was a cold day on the planned shipping day, so Ken contacted me to let me know of the delay and included a "bonus" plant for waiting. He did not need to do this, but it is much appreciated. The plants themselves are very sturdy and healthy, which is the bottom line. The prices are the best to be found. Can't say enough good things. Thanks, Ken! Picture of the nice healthy plumeria below.

I took advantage of Ken's Fall 2015 Blow out and ordered two Plumerias: a rooted Celadine and a cutting of Vera Cruz Rose. They arrived in very short order and the shipping box impressed me. A very high-quality, triangular-shaped container that was not about to be crushed or smashed. I have received too many of those.

Upon opening it, I was next impressed by the packaging -- quality all the way around and there was no way the plants could have been harmed. And the rooted cutting was packaged with damp moss in such a manner that it would not have dried out.

And of course the plants. Both were very large in diameter and length. Both were larger than I had expected.

I will certainly consider them for any of my future needs - they do have a number of specialties. Interacting with Ken here at ATP, I know that he is thoughtful, caring (about plants, customers and ATP posters Smiling ), and very knowledgeable.

Highest ratings.

I recently ordered two of the "White Butterfly" ginger plants, during the "dog days of summer" promotion where everything was discounted by 25%. Normally when I find plants for an end-of-season sale price, I pretty much expect them to look like the bargains they are, but that was definitely not true in this case! These plants arrived in perfect condition, carefully packed, and I received not only the two plants that I had ordered, but also an extra huge piece of rhizome and a Canna Lily, as well as a page of helpful information about how to plant and grow them. I was happy to have a tracking number so I knew exactly when they would be arriving, as our rural mail carrier has been known to leave packages in some strange places (including delivering to the wrong house altogether). I truly could not be happier with this transaction -- thanks, DrDawg!

I bought heirloom garlic. Everything about the transaction, and most importantly the garlic, could not have been better. Professional and seamless, but it's the garlic...Oh man, was that garlic an awesome surprise. I ordered it to plant in the fall. I roasted one clove of each variety to "test" it. Let's just say I wont be planting this year. Ended up eating it all :-)
highly recommend

UPDATE... I just bought some orchids. Wonderful! Great attention to detail, from the shipping, right down to the great, long-term tags he makes for each plant. The orchids looked as if they had been afforded the same attention to detail. The mounted one even made it, blooms and all.

Made my first purchase from Tropical Plants & More and what a pleasant transaction that was. Not only is Ken extremely easy to deal with, he is so helpful and considerate there is no doubt when the plants arrive, you will know what to do with them to keep them alive and happy.
I purchased rhizomes of 'White Butterfly Ginger' and they are twice the size you would get at any other online store. They were packed professionally and the instructions were enclosed. I am so anxious to get them in the ground and watch them grow. This will not be the last time I make a purchase from Tropical Plants & More.

I received my plumeria and orchid on Wednesday and they were both larger specimens than I had thought I was getting. They arrived in excellent condition, which I am sure, in part, was because of how Ken had them packed. I am very happy with the plants, the speed in which I got them after I told Ken the weather was probably settled down enough for him to send them, and the way they were packed. I give Tropical Plants and More 5 stars (out of 5). :>)

I read about the Ficus maclellandii 'Alii' on the Tropical Plants & More website and it looked and sounded so wonderful that I ordered one, along with a White Butterfly Ginger. They were shipped on a Monday and arrived on Wed., well packaged and looking fresh and fabulous! Both plants came with a laminated plant tag and an entire page of detailed info and culture tips, special touches that add to the entire ordering experience. You can tell Ken is a plant lover!

When I decided to grow orchids again, after an almost twenty-year hiatus, I was a little worried: My original attempts had been in Houston, Texas, where you can succeed merely by hanging your plants from trees or fences with dappled shade. Need more orchids? There are several commercial growers with wide varieties of species. Want a book or two? Bookstores abound.
Now, however, I am permanently ensconced on a ranch in, as we say, "thuh meedull uv eyus Tayxus." Immediately after moving here, I became aware of several serious obstacles to successful orchid growing (besides understanding whut thuh fowks wur sayun): Humidity? None. Heat? Can you say "112 for 90 consecutive days?" Dappled shade? My section of East Texas has scattered Live Oaks which have total shade, a few pines, and thorn trees with thorns big enough to hang an orchid--if you live through the hanging! "That's the end of my orchid growing," I thought.
And then--well, you know, you can't live without them. Shopping on the Internet seemed the only possibility. I ordered a few plants here, a few plants there with mixed results. Some growers sent what Ken would describe as "babies," some sent okay plants with roots so brown and wizened that they were terminally bound from the start. I got plants packed in wads of cotton, plants packed exclusively in duct tape, plants in peanuts, in wadded newspaper, in nothing. They were identified with little flags on sticks sorta stuck in the medium, with little plastic tabs identifying the plant with smeared pencil, with tags on wires which cut into the plant, with no plant attached. How was one to know? They all looked beautiful in the sales pictures.
And then I found Ken. With Ken, plants are wrapped like babies (you will notice that he refers to them as "he" and "she"). They arrive in layers of packing: moss around the base, followed by carefully-wrapped newspaper, held in place by nice, strong but easy-to-remove masking tape. The plants are then boxed in good sturdy boxes filled with peanuts. No surprise that they are in great shape when they arrive.
Because of my problematic growing conditions, I needed lots of advice, and there was Ken, by phone and by Internet, with advice about whatever I need advice about. My plants prospered, grew and bloomed. I ordered more (no more shopping for growers, of course!). The new plants arrived quickly and healthy, because Ken monitors the weather and ships accordingly.
After a year, one of the multitude bit the dust (literally), a victim of heat, direct sun, and too little water. Obviously my fault, right? Wrong! Next time I talked to Ken, I mentioned it, confessing my sins or omission, and told him it was a plant I had ordered long ago, with my first purchase. He immediately said he'd replace it--just get him the name..
Ken's stock includes other tropicals and I am now waiting for a plumeria to arrive, but primarily Ken's my go-to guy for orchids; he should be yours.

Ken sent me five orchids at an outstanding price. They were all brilliantly labeled, with a nice laminated card that had a photo of the orchid's bloom and the name. They were all potted in a lovely, handcrafted mix and arrived happy as can be. Before my order, Ken spent a lot of time discussing plants with me and helping me choose what I wanted based on our conversation. He's all over the forums, always helpful, and is totally reachable. It's more like having an orchid buddy than a commercial supplier.

I received my third order of orchid plants from Ken yesterday and, once again, was impressed. The plants were meticulously packed so that, when they were unpacked, they were in perfect condition and there was not even one bit of growing medium in the box or wrappings. The plants themselves were large, robust plants, some with flower spikes, so healthy and green that they look good even when they are not in bloom! I really cannot say enough about Ken's obvious love of orchids, his attention to detail, and his kindness and patience in answering all of my questions. He has a very nice assortment of plants too: I saw one plant on his website that I loved, but it was sold out, so I searched on the Internet for that variety. I found a few but they didn't look as nice as Ken's plants. Luckily for me, he posted a couple more on his website and I couldn't order one quickly enough! Now that I see it, I'm so glad I did, what a beauty that plant is! Thank you, Ken!

Hard to believe that I've never owned a houseplant and chose orchids as my learning curve. It's a stretch and a challenge, but I will try to ensure they don't meet their demise.

Package arrived yesterday and my first impression was the thought and care of the packaging itself. Being used to receiving daylilies crammed into flat rate boxes, I was in for a surprise when USPS delivered the long box, which could have held an entire rain forest. Every plant was secure and healthy. One plant is secured on cork and looks like it was plucked straight from nature.

I'm especially appreciative of Ken's advice and hand holding.

I am very pleased to be able to add my voice in recommending Tropical Plants & More. Though I've not ordered Orchids from Ken yet, I look forward to it in the near future! I have ordered supplies that I just can't find locally. My first purchase was a gorgeous piece of Portuguese Cork for mounting a baby Staghorn fern that I had acquired from a friend. The quality and beauty of this piece along with the affordable price were very intriguing. The care taken in packaging this piece was outstanding. I knew then that I'd definitely be shopping here again. Ken's passion for Orchids and tropical plants is contagious. He is always available, and he has a true desire for you to succeed in growing all these beauties. He's not just a seller; he is a teacher! He is always there to answer even what may seem to be the silliest of questions, which for a "newbie" like me, is invaluable. My most recent purchase of an 8 qt. Special Cattleya Mix was so beautifully mixed, and so generous, that I'll have to be adding to my orchid "collection" soon! Along with a sprayer/mister, that has become my all-time favorite!

I know that I will be going back to Tropical Plants & More for all of my Orchid/Tropical & More needs...and wants!
Edited Aug.10, 2014 to add....
And I have gone back! This time for his Plumeria Inventory Reduction Sale, and I'm thrilled that I did! I received two beautiful, large rooted trees, and two very thick cuttings. Three varieties in all, and I could not be happier!
The attention to detail in packaging and shipping is extraordinary! And his customer service? Well I can't rave enough! Thanks Ken! I'll be back!

Just received my second order of orchids and I am very pleased. I have ordered from other suppliers and after a year only half of the ordered plants have survived. Tropical Plants and More sells orchids that are well established and healthy, so their survival rate has been 100% so far. Ken is a real pleasure to deal with and gives excellent customer service and communication. It is great to deal and communicate with a real person that is knowledgeable; a real rarity today. Each of my orchids comes marked with a picture of a mature plant blooming. Helps me stay patient while waiting for the plant to bloom because orchids take their own time. Cannot say enough about this supplier.

Just received a very nice order of orchids from Tropical Plants & More. They are all nice healthy looking plants, the sizes were what I expected, and prices are very reasonable for the good cultivars Ken offers.

I can't say enough about the excellent packaging job. Flowers in bloom came through the mail without a single bruise.

Of special note are the excellent plant tags on each pot, laminated with the plant name on one side and a color photo of the flowers (to come) on the other. The tags are secured to the pot with twist ties, which seems like a great idea, given my problems with tags disappearing.
