The Green Pages: Territorial Seed Company (E-Commerce Companies)

I love Territorial for vegetable seeds. They have some varieties that aren't found everywhere. And for those of you living in colder climates, they have varieties that will perform well in your area. I particularly liked their Lettuce, North Pole. Great taste and picture perfect!

Seed and shipping cost more than they would elsewhere, but this company knows how to ship live plants better than any other company around. Beautiful live plants.

Great selection of veggies. So far I have had very good germination results. Everything was shipped promptly and arrived quickly. The paper catalog is a pleasure to flip through, and has all kinds of little tidbits of information. This was one of the few places I could find a variety of carrot that was purple all the way through.

I would highly recommend Territorial as one of your seed sources.

I have used seeds from Territorial for the last two years in my garden in Nisqually, and always have had great germination results and overall great veggies. Steve Solomon of Territorial Seed company wrote the book, literally, on growing vegetables west of the Cascades (look it up on Amazon). Lots of seed tested in the northwest. My go-to seed company.

I have purchased seed and plants from Territorial Seed Company for many years. I have never been disappointed in the seeds or the plants.
I love it that I can trust the plants I get from them will do well in my growing conditions. They are a great company to do business with.

To be honest, I'm not a 'fan' of their shipping prices, BUT I love the store and I have gotten outstanding customer service when I've been there OR on the phone. There are times when I am headed north and call them a couple days ahead with an 'order.' They have it ready for me to pick up. Beautiful plants, and they stand behind their plants ( well, their products) and are locally owned. I like that.

Their catalog has GREAT detailed advice for growing in the PNW. I treat it as a reference manual I can buy seeds from. Their prices seem pretty good.

Excellent varieties specific to the Pacific Northwest. Good quality seed, always with a good germination rate. The catalog itself is a good source of planting/culture information. They also offer bulk seed, which can be a money saver if you pool orders with other folks. I don't do mail order often, but when I do it is usually with Territorial.

Ordered my asparagus from them last spring. Very strong roots sprouted easily and grew into a thick asparagus patch, ready to harvest next year. Large selection of veggie seeds, not just run-of-the-mill but some more unusual types. The paper catalog does a great job identifying disease-resistant varieties of tomatoes and has other good reference material worth keeping.
