Recommended by ReigningRoses - Jan 18, 2017 2:21 PM I am a member of the Syracuse Rose Society. Each year for as long as I have been a member, a number of us get together and make a group order from this Canadian Company. They aren't too far away and someone used to drive out and pick them up, but now they use a postal service. They have such a good selection for the club, because half the club wants show quality/hybrid tea type roses, and the rest are more "gardeners" and want shrubs, or health above all. Palatine always has selections for everyone. They are large, dormant, grafted onto multiflora plants. Usually no problems! |

Recommended by zuzu - Jan 12, 2015 1:40 PM Ater 30 years of buying roses from every mail-order nursery, many of which are no longer in business, I can say without any hesitation that Palatine is the very best source for bare-root roses. Lots of healthy canes and roots, excellent customer service, and shipping rates that are lower than the ones charged by most of the U.S. nurseries. One other bonus for me is the R. multiflora rootstock, which doesn't appeal to gophers and therefore eliminates the expense of a gopher-proof planting cage for each rose. |
Recommended by bellarosa - Nov 30, 2014 9:16 AM I can't say enough good things about Palatine nursery! They are my go-to place for climbing roses. When you order from them, you get a large rose with healthy roots, packaged well, and ready to be planted. They have a great selection of roses, including some of the old classic roses and many Kordes varieties -- great for colder regions. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Oh, and one last thing: Rachel is amazing! My roses arrived in the fall, but unfortunately, we had a light snowfall and I was concerned about planting the roses. I called Palatine, spoke to Rachel -- the owner's daughter -- and she was amazing. Gave me some great suggestions on what to do and how to plant them. She's the best! |

Recommended by Skiekitty - Jul 23, 2012 10:26 AM I have been ordering bare-root roses from Palatine for only 3 years now, but I am impressed! They have a wonderful selection of absolutely gorgeous roses, and they ship bare-root roses via UPS when you request them to be shipped. Their roses always have healthy green canes and MASSIVE root systems. They have a fully functional website for ordering and, if you wish to call them, they are very nice on the phone. I believe this is a family-run business. Even though they are in Canada, their shipping rates are NOT expensive at all. I highly recommend Palatine for ordering roses. |
