I've mentioned two things here - Mini Greenhouses and Plant Tags.
Both involve recycling, and both use pop/water bottles. For the tags, I simply use the large 2-litre bottles and cut the top and bottom off with kitchen scissors. Then, I cut the resulting cylinder into strips about 3/4" wide. I get about 15 labels that are about 5" x 3/4" per bottle. A tip: Using the generic brands, not the name brands, will make the cutting easier because the plastic is not as thick. A permanent marker (Sharpie is what I use for this) works great for writing down whatever info you want on the tag.
For the "greenhouse" - again, I use beverage bottles - small water bottles are great. They are perfect for a young seedling. Simply remove the bottom, and place over the seedling/cutting. This can also be used as a cold frame. You can leave the cap on, take it off, or punch a hole in it. It all depends on what you want. If your plant is larger, such as an indoor wintered geranium or ????, use the larger bottles.
May the blooms be with you!
