If you have naturally alkaline soil, you can combat it naturally by saving the needles off your Christmas tree and tilling them into the soil.

Some parts of the country have alkaline soil. You can neutralize the pH of your soil by adding organic material. Pine needles are naturally acidic and will change the pH a little at a time, which is the way to go!
