Here is a quick and easy method of planting allium (garlic & shallots) in really tight rows (matrix). Using this method I can fast plant 200 allium in a 5x10 foot garden. In addition, later on it's really easy to spot any cloves that did not sprout.

This past year I took a deep dive into Chrysanthemum rubellums (Heirloom or Old Fashioned Mums). In Michigan, we had a hard frost in mid-October as usual, but several of my new mums are still in bloom. What's not to like about that?

However, I am also a computer geek, and because my head is usually in the clouds, I have some favorite on-line applications that I find useful for "whatever" gardening.
