Vertical Gardening

By on
Make my version of a "topsy-turvy" stack of pots with three materials you might have lying around in your basement. A favorite of bumblebees and butterflies, this vertical gardening idea is also great for areas with little space. Materials needed are one long metal vegetable stake, 4-7 clay pots of differing sizes, and a couple of cans of old spray paint.

First, start with the largest clay pot and spray paint pot with color of choice. Set aside to dry and continue spraying remaining clay pots. I used 3 different colored spray paints and alternated colors. Once dry, your pots and metal stake can be carried to the area in the garden where you will be placing them. Stick the stake into the ground and hammer it in. Start with the large clay pot at the bottom, and stack the remaining pots, big to small. You've just created a topsy-turvy stack of pots in 20 minutes!
