Award-Winning AAS Flowers

'Can Can' Carnation

Three of the All-America Selections winners for 2003 feature either a new fragrance, a new color, or a new look. 'Can Can Scarlet' carnation has red, double, 2-inch diameter blooms that when cut and brought indoors can perfume a room with its spicy fragrance. 'Can Can Scarlet' is heat tolerant and perfect in the cut flower garden.

Ornamental grasses have become increasingly popular. 'Purple Majesty' millet continues in this tradition, featuring 3- to 5-foot-tall plants, purple strap-like leaves, and 1-foot-tall purple flower spikes. The flower spikes make excellent cut flowers, or if left to mature on the plant, a great seed source for birds. 'Purple Majesty' is easy to grow and heat and drought tolerant.
