South Burlington, VT (April 11, 2007) - The National Gardening Association (NGA) is pleased to announce that Cabot Cheese will be participating in the NYC GROWS GARDEN FESTIVAL presented by Target on Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The festival will take place at the Union Square Park South Plaza located at Broadway & 14 St.
Cabot is one of America's leading Cheddar Cheese makers. The widely recognized Vermont product is primarily made from milk produced by farmers throughout New England and New York State. "It is because of these great farmers, along with our employees, that we are able to make what has been recognized as the World's Best Cheddar. Being a supporter of NYC Grows Garden Festival is just one small way we like to support the farmers who are the Cabot Cooperative", noted Richard Stammer President of Cabot Creamery.
Cabot will have a tent at the event in which there will be samplings of various flavors of cheddar cheese along with marketing literature. Cabot employees will be available to answer questions throughout the day. Cabot encourages New Yorkers to come out to try the World's Best Cheddar and to support a "greener" New York.
Cabot Creamery Cooperative has been in continuous operation in Vermont since 1919 and is best known as makers of "The World's Best Cheddar," as honored twice now at World Championship Cheese Contests. Cabot is owned by the dairy farm families of Agri-Mark, the Northeast's premier dairy cooperative. Agri-Mark and its farmers also own the McCadam brand of New York dairy products.
