A sweet and charming cottage garden flower that gracefully weaves its way through whatever is growing nearby. It blooms nonstop with an abundance of simple, wildflowery blooms that are very attractive to pollinators. Color ranges from vivid electric cobalt to hyacinth blue to a more pale lavender-blue depending on temperature and lighting conditions. The flowers can take on temporary pinkish tones when newly planted but the coloring will correct itself as the season progresses. One of my favorites; I will always have space in my garden for 'Rozanne'!
This is my all time favourite geranium because:
Native to my area (Mason, NH, zone 5b)
Valuable source of nectar and pollen for honey bees.
This geranium is a true perennial and has been established in my (zone 5 ) garden for 10+ years. It does not need to be divided. I have divided mine once to place a plant in a new location. I have it growing both in full sun and in afternoon shade. the shaded plant is a bit taller (by 20%), but there is no noticeable bloom difference. In wet years it gets a bit floppy. It receives no additional water in my garden.
This is a beautiful hardy geranium. It grows in the shade and has unique flowers, burgundy in color held above the leaves with a burgundy accent.
Valuable source of nectar and pollen for honey bees.
Tends to be lower growing than Geranium sanguineum.
A nice low mounding hardy geranium that works well as a ground cover, it spreads well and is very hardy in my zone 5.
Pretty but not particularly showy pink flowers; foliage greens up in the summer.
