This is just a note on my gardening process with this plant. I watched it develop and bloom nicely. I got a couple of glimpses of a hummingbird enjoying them. It wasn't spectacular, as I didn't get any pictures. Right now I'm just attempting to see what grows in Trona, CA. We are located at the SW edge of Death Valley, in Searles Valley. There are many unusual chemicals in the soil. I've incorporated garden and top soil mix to my dirt when planting. This has helped some plants, but not all. It also has to do with the location of the plant around the house. This plant is located on the NW side of the house. It rains here about 4-5 times in a year. In hot weather months from June-August I try to water daily. If I skip one day, the plant shows and it takes several days to recover.
