Thumb Plant Status Notes Events
Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Alien Whisper')
Have
Dormant: 45 inches tall. First blooming in 2017. In Bob Selman's Alien series. This was a very pale flower at my house this past season. Pale pinkish with pale yellow center. Not quite like the photos I've seen. Plus it didn't reach the height it's supposed to be. However...this may be one that gets better and better each year. We'll see. I don't give up on any.

2018 Update: well, it has bloomed (as of June 18th) and is still growing short & is still pink not lavender. However, I'm going to move it after it's finished blooming this season & try it in another location. I'm thinking that color may depend on what kind of soil it's in and the nutrients it's getting or not getting.
Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Aliens in the Garden')
Have
Dormant: 36 inches tall. I got this because I liked the design/pattern. However, when it bloomed in 2017 for the first time it did not have any. Kind of like Get Jiggy. So, I'll wait & see what it does this summer.
Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'All American Chief')

Favorites
Dormant: 32 inches tall. Another Red with yellow center. This sometimes can resemble others like Ruby Spider or Red Headed Hussy. Regardless, it's still very nice.
Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'All Fired Up')
Have
Evergreen. 20 inches tall (but gets taller at my house). I got this one from Jack Church about 7 yrs ago. Transplanted it from my old house to my new house & it did fine. Always has lots of scapes & blooms. Is one of the first ones to bloom here.

Evergreen means: The foliage habit of daylilies that retain their foliage throughout the year. In cold winter climates, evergreen daylilies over-winter as a mound of frozen pale green foliage. Evergreens may resume growth during a mid-winter thaw in mild climates. Evergreen daylilies do not set resting buds.

Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Ancient Wisdom')
Have
2017: Has not bloomed yet.

2018: It did bloom and was very short. Also, not purple like the photo. It's pink. But that happens with many daylilies that are listed as lavender - you end up with pink instead. Not sure why that happens; however my first guess would be the type of soil it's in & what nutrients it's getting. Everybody's garden dirt is different. We have clay here that I try to add high quality garden soil (with fertilizer in it) to the clay.

Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Angela Marie')
Have
Semi-evergreen, 30 inches tall. This is one of my favs. I got it from Jack Church (at Birdland Daylilies in northern Ohio) & it's named after his daughter. The blooms on this are quite large & hefty. I've had it for at least 7 yrs., and transplanted it from my old house to my new house & it is doing well.
Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Angels in Wisconsin')
Have
I got this from Blue Ridge Daylilies (Eric Simpson) in 2019
Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Angels' Share')
Have
Foliage type: Semi-evergreen
Scape height: 30 inches

This is a very dainty soft looking DL. Which is why the name fits so well.
Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Anne Marie Lewis')
Have
Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Annie Palmer')
Have
Dormant, 27 inches tall (appears taller here). Mid-season bloomer. I got this from hybridizer Chad Bush & the photo I originally saw was of a pale pink looking DL. However, the actual color is much darker and it has teeth. The very first year it sent up so many scapes that I was really surprised. 2018 season will be it's 2nd yr here.
