Image Clematis 'Dr. Ruppel'
This needs to be pruned and fed in Mid March and again in the Fall for best showing. It is a beautiful vine. Stunning when in bloom.
Close Up View #Pollinization Rocket Larkspur (Consolida ajacis 'Giant Imperial Mix')
Need to be sure to plant toward back of the bed, they tend to get too tall but very beautiful colors. I have located some dwarf variety on T's Flowers& things website and will order them.
Yellow no ID Asiatic lily in center - unplanned. Threadleaf Coreopsis (Coreopsis verticillata 'Zagreb')
The Zagreb coreopsis was given to my by my daughter, Laura. Very easy to grow and I love their mounding habit, also easy to divide. I have some in the garage flower bed and she just gave me some more plants and I chopped them into many pieces and planted throughout other flowerbeds. Will look forward to seeing how much they grow come next spring. Maintence free, just deadhead the blooms to insure more blooms, goes dormant in the winter.
Image Pale Purple Coneflower (Echinacea pallida)
I really don't know what variety these are because I've snatched the seeds from public places or rec'd some in a wintersowing swap just marked Purple coneflower. I think some of them might be Mangus variety.
Image California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica)
I have wintersown this 2 yrs. in a row and love this plant. I have some planted in the sunroom flowerbed as well as garage flower bed
Shasta daisy "Silver Princess" Shasta Daisy (Leucanthemum x superbum 'Silver Princess')
Seeds came from Velma Alexander's flowerbed after her death with permission from Carl and Norman. I will always have her daisies to remind me what a cherished friend/neighbor she was.
Image Shasta Daisy (Leucanthemum x superbum 'Snow Lady')
Snow Lady is a shorter version of shasta daisies. Needs to be planted up front of border or in a patio container/pot.
Image Russell Lupine (Lupinus regalis)
So far I only have one Lupin plant and it is rose color but is being smothered out by oriental poppy plants and geum..so it needs to go closer to the front. Will consider tranplanting the geum plant somewhere else. It needs a lot of space.
A bloom on top of a bloom! Bee Balm (Monarda didyma 'Raspberry Wine')
Seedling sent to me by Pennefeather(Thelma Allcock from McLean, Va.
Image Oriental Poppy (Papaver orientale 'Allegro')
Not sure of variety, thought it was the Brilliant variety but they are beautful when in bloom. I have some in garage flowerbed and the front flowerbed in front of living room. I removed some of the pods so there won't be more plants next year as they tend to spread and spraw too tall and wide for me.
Image Creeping Phlox (Phlox subulata 'Drummons Pink')
I have only one of this variety but the rest are another variety, will look for the plant marker and add it later. The foliage of this one is a bit different than the others.
Swallowtail really loved the blooms Creeping Phlox (Phlox subulata 'Emerald Blue')
I purchased some new creeping phlox "emerald Blue" for the back flowerbed where the rose bushes are planted and by sunroom door bed this Spring. They should really spread out by next Spring and be very showy.
Image Rose Campion (Silene coronaria)
Seeds came from Julie Finn, Moyock, NC
