Thumb Plant Status Notes Events
wpclipart Carolina Spring Beauty (Claytonia caroliniana)
Tiny early spring bulb planted years ago by previous owner of home. Covers nearly the front yard and has the appearance of snow from a distance. Multiplies easily...have moved some to side & back yards.
Image Lysimachia congestiflora Superstition™
Purchased 1915 from Blue Moon. Is thriving and spreading. Pretty purplish color. Yellow bloom. Needs shade.
Image Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea')
Pretty but highly invasive here in sandy soil of East Texas. Usually pull it out by handfuls and throw away and it still springs up from roots.
Image Strawberry Begonia (Saxifraga stolonifera)
No issues at all with this little ground cover in shady areas.
Image Speedwell (Veronica peduncularis 'Georgia Blue')
Ground cover used in designated Rose bed with bird bath. Blooms at the same time as Snowflakes & Daffodils along the edges of the circular bed.
