lauribob's Plant List

A note from lauribob
I am not interested in selling or trading live plants. I do save seeds once in awhile and would be willing to trade those.

Thumb Plant Status Notes Events
Image Bugbane (Actaea simplex 'Henry's Selection')
Have
Front
This is not a recognized cultivar. I can't remember where I bought it, maybe the nursery in Brewster that closed.
Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Victoria Red')
Have
Crabapple
Not a registered cultivar
Image Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Wine Red')
Have
Knick Knack
Veggie Garden Perennials
Z5
This a robust unregistered daylily - I've divided it many times and given it away. Originally planted by the back porch, it's also under the kitchen window, on the west side of the grinder side of the KK garden, and under the black elderberry outside the veggie garden. The original one needs to be divided again.
Image Lilac (Syringa Vulgaris 'Jody's White')
Have
Corner
This is one that I got from Jody way back when she lived in Omak. It took years to bloom and it's white. Very fragrant.
Image Peony (Paeonia 'Becker Pink Double')
Have
Aspen
One of several that Becker gave me. I really like this one. I should probably move it to a location that gets more sun.
Image Peony (Paeonia 'NOID Aspen')
Have
Aspen
This is a tiny one at the top of the bank that was probably started by a seed from a bird on the power line above. It has never bloomed, and has been tiny forever.
Image Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Antique Purple')
Have
Here & There
NOID. Made up name
Out in the pasture
Image Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Becky L')
Have
Z5
I got this from Becky LaVergne. It's stunning. I'm pretty sure that it's Rebecca Leanne Headrick.
Image Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Dark Falls')
Have
Front Bank
Here & There
NOID. Made up name
Front Bank - by the plum tree (#1)
H&T - Out in the pasture, moved from Front (#2)
Image Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Spill the Wine')
Have
Aspen
NOID. This is a made up name. At the top of the bank in the Aspen Garden.
Autumn color Paperbark Maple (Acer griseum)
Have
Dead Zone
I planted one of these out in the pasture a long time ago. It lived for about 2 years before succumbing to deer damage. It was not fenced. It started to come back from the root stock, but that didn't last long either.
Full Moon Maple (Acer japonicum 'Aconitifolium')
Have
Dead Zone
I planted one of these in the lower yard in 2008, where the raspberries were before we moved them into the veggie garden. It made it a year or two and then just woke up dead in the spring. It was really pretty while it lasted. I have not had much luck down there with trees, other than aspen. They probably get root rot in the spring during high water.
Image Ash-Leaved Maple (Acer negundo 'Flamingo')
Have
Here & There
Back yard.
Looking good this year

Image Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum 'Green Star')

Image Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum 'Kurabu Yama')
Have
Here & There
Back yard.

2016 One of the main branches died. Sun/wind damage? Bark was cracked and split.
2017 I pruned this in late June after looking on the internet for advice. I went with "Winter dormancy is the best time, but if you think it needs pruning, do it now. Otherwise you will never do it."
Image Norway Maple (Acer platanoides)
Have
Here & There
Along the fence in the pasture.
Identified due to milky sap. Would love to figure out cultivar.
From Denese's mom
Image Amur Maple (Acer tataricum subsp. ginnala 'Flame')
Have
Here & There
On the bank to lower yard.
Slow growing, but hanging in there. Had great color last fall.
Out in the pasture Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
Have
Here & There
This is never as brightly colored as photos I've seen of this pla Yarrow (Achillea millefolium 'Cerise Queen')
Have
Windmill
It's blooming this year nicely, but I think it looks kind of washed out. I wonder if I fertilized it if it would have more pop?
Image Yarrow (Achillea millefolium 'Paprika')
Have
Z5
In the dry area next to porch.
