lauribob's Plant List

A note from lauribob
I am not interested in selling or trading live plants. I do save seeds once in awhile and would be willing to trade those.

Image Broccoli (Brassica oleracea 'Gypsy')
Have
Vegetables
Pinetree. 57 days. Hybrid
I think I've given up on broccoli. It doesn't do well for me and I'd rather grow something else that does.
Courtesy Sustainable Seed Company Bell Pepper (Capsicum annuum 'Golden Calwonder')
Have
Vegetables
Totally Tomatoes. 72 Days. OP
2018: Bought starts. These were great in a year when the bell peppers were meh. The biggest, the most, the thickest walls. Get them again.
Image Jalapeno Pepper (Capsicum annuum 'Goliath')
Have
Vegetables
Totally Tomatoes. 65-68 days. Hybrid
2018 bought starts. I have to remember to get seeds for these - I like them better than the regular jalapeƱos. They are much larger and produce really well for us. They taste good when green or red, and are a good size for poppers.
Bell Pepper (Capsicum annuum 'Iko Iko')
Have
Vegetables
2018: Purchased start. Most of my bells didn't do very well this year for some reason. This one produced a number of smallish purple peppers . They were thin-walled and somewhat contorted. Maybe the smoke all summer made it not sunny enough? These should have ripened to red or orange.
Fajitas!! Pepper (Capsicum annuum 'Jalafuego')
Have
Vegetables
Pinetree. 70 days. Hybrid
I've grown these for several years now. I prefer the larger size of these as well as the little bit more heat they give you.
NuMex Big Jim Anaheim Pepper (Capsicum annuum 'Numex Big Jim')
Have
Vegetables
Totally Tomatoes. 75-80 days. OP
2018 We had one plant of these - a purchased start. We lost the tags and didn't know what it was until I found the map after we had picked everything. We put them in our salsa. Supposed to get really big and be perfect for chile rellenos. I think I'll try them again from seed.
Hot Pepper (Capsicum annuum 'Tiburon')
Have
Vegetables
Park, Johnny's, Jung. 65 days.
2018. We bought starts. These were really good for chile rellenos. Thick walled and tasty.
Serrano Pepper (Capsicum anuum 'Hot Rod')
Have
Vegetables
2018: From purchased start. Did OK.
Hot Pepper (Capsicum anuum 'Red Hot Cherry')
Have
Vegetables
Pinetree. 77 days
2018. I planted one plant this year and it produced enough attractive red cherry peppers to pickle up in 2 pint jars. I just did them in the frig instead of canning. Greg thinks they're too sweet. I like them.
Tabasco flower Chile Pepper (Capsicum frutescens 'Tabasco')
Have
Vegetables
Pinetree, Totally Tomatoes. 80 Days.
2018: We grew at least 6 of these plants from starts this year. The peppers were tiny and much later than the other peppers. Our total harvest of these, we mixed with enough habaneros & jalapeƱos to make up half a recipe of hot sauce - less than 2 full bottles. It's HOT! Greg likes it, it's a bit much for me so far.
Hot Paper Lantern Habanero (Capsicum sinense 'Hot Paper Lantern')
Have
Vegetables
Strictly Medicinal Seeds. 80 days. OP
We got these as starts 2018. They produced really well for us and the peppers were larger than the ones we grew last year. Really tasty hot sauce from these.
Habanero (Capsicum sinense 'Magnum')
Have
Vegetables
2018: Got a start or two. These didn't produce as well as the Paper Lantern variety.
Courtesy Sustainable Seed Company Cantaloupe (Cucumis melo 'Green Nutmeg')
Have
Vegetables
Pinetree. Heirloom
2017 - Couldn't get seeds. This is an heirloom, maybe start saving seed?
2018 I got a few going in a bad seed year. I don't know if we waited too long to pick them or what, but they were kind of mushy and bland this year. These used to be my very favorites!
2019 No seeds at PT
Image Cucumber (Cucumis sativus 'Burpless')
Have
Vegetables
2018 Grew from a purchased start, along with our own plants. They did well and didn't get bitter. 70 days.
Plant has an open habit, the easier to see the zukes before they Zucchini (Cucurbita pepo 'Green Tiger')
Have
Vegetables
Pinetree: 55 days
These are tasty and smaller than most zukes. They take longer to get huge.
Letter sent to Craig LeHoullier. Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum 'Anna Russian')
Have
Vegetables
I grew these one year when I couldn't find Cluster Grande seeds. They didn't impress me much.
Potato Leaf Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum 'Bloody Butcher')
Have
Vegetables
Totally Tomatoes. 55 Days OP
I grew these one year when I had poor germination with my seeds. They were really good.
Courtesy Harris Seeds Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum 'Brandywine')
Have
Vegetables
2018 Bought a start. They were not good - they grew weird shaped tomatoes that were hard to slice and a lot of 2 fruits mashed together. They got some nasty flying bug burrowed into the fruit that about made me puke. Don't do them again.
Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum 'Bush Early Girl')
Have
Vegetables
2018 Bought a start. Didn't notice any difference between this one and the regular early girls.
