Has really expanded on the west side. Loads of orange aphids this year by garage but not on west side. Loads of bumblebees. Found a chrysalis Oct 25 on the shed, and it emerged a couple days after. Had an adult monarch hang around all day on blue salvia, Oct 27. It has been a warm and totally dry October. |

from greenthumb, thriving and blooming next to redbud in shade, I think mine is a male plant http://www.illinoiswildflowers... 2021 april, moved some to redbud next to oakleaf hydrangea. Not the greatest idea, as the leaf shapes (redbud, dioscorea) are so similar! 4.22.2022 moved the rest to the base of hickory tree way in corner. Both chunks just now making first shoots. 5.1.2023 growing well 11.12.23 dug up two big clusters of roots. Planted one at the hearts a burstin and the other at a walnut, with blue twine to mark them. The one on the redbud did well and has loveley yellow fall color |
