The Q&A Archives: Fragrant Warm Winter Lilac

Questioner's Location: Los Gatos, CA
Date: October 11, 2006

Question: I am looking for a Lilac that will flower reliably in my area, fragrance is really important. From your website, I think Miss Kim, Lavender Lady, or Angel White might be good choices. Would you agree? What would you recommend?

Answer: Angel White, Miss Kim and Lavender Lady are all Descanso Hybrids, bred especially for mild winter climates such as yours. Aside from the flower color, there's not much difference in the growth habit or rate so choose your favorite. Plant it in full sunshine and be sure to water regularly its first season in the landscape to help it establish a healthy root system.

Enjoy!
